*B.H.S Equestrian Tourism Manager

I started Pinetrees in 1985, at our family villa where we have lived since 1972. All my life I have been involved with tourism and horses so this career was a natural move for me.

My principal professional training was at the prestigious Talland School of Equitation where I gained the British Horse Society Intermediate Teaching Certificate. Later I achieved the B.H.S. Equestrian Tourism Centre Manager diploma and qualifications in riding for disabled riders – something which I particularly have a passion for.

I do enjoy teaching with the wonderful Lusitano horses and I have been greatly influenced by training with the late Nuno Oliveira and also by the methods of Sylvia Loch in classical equitation. Working with so many different nationalities at Pinetrees, I can teach in half a dozen languages.

Some years ago I was influential in the introduction of ParaDressage into Portugal and as a result, I  was Chef de Equipe for 4 years until Athens. In recent years Pinetrees has organised a regional competition in May for the disabled for Special Olympics Portugal and sponsored by local business MAPRO – Real estate , ROOD Construction , Projection Dreams and Algarve Fine Food.

When I have free time I enjoy studying family history.
