What better way to see the Algarve countryside than from the back of a horse.
Since safety and your enjoyment is our prime concern, initial assessment for the right level of ride and choice of the right horse for you is important.
Rusty riders are advised to take a refresher lesson first.
ESCORT RIDERS
Escorts are qualified first aiders, know the trails and nature well and carry a mobile phone.
NATURE WALKS
A wonderful way for beginner riders to enjoy the countryside on horseback. On the safety of a lead rein if required. Ride past Cork and Carob trees. Be on the look out for the Azul-winged Magpies, lizards and rabbits.
TREKS
Walking and trotting through the pinewoods, beside the golf course and lakes. In spring wild flowers abound and the area attracts a wealth of bird life. Smell the Thyme, Rosemary and the "Curry" plant. No road work!
HACKS
One hour hacks take place in the same area as above, to the south of the stables.
Two hour hacks explore further afield and may have to cross roads and occasionally ride along short stretches of quiet roads to link up to off road riding.
Ludo is a farming valley with orange groves, old farm houses and perhaps a flock of sheep accompanied by a shepherd and his dog.
Several routes bring rides to the beach area with tracks beside sand dunes and tidal lagoons and through forestry. Sea breezes cool the face on a warm day. To protect the environment we do not ride on the dunes nor on the beach in summer season. The wonderful golden sandy beaches proudly possess prestigious blue flags, indicating a high standard of safety and hygiene.
Westward brings us to Fonte Santa, with more pines, a lake and the remains of Roman ruins buried beneath the sands.
If you have chosen the holiday discount card It is possible to have a different route/ area for each 2 hour ride.
