BeginnerFrom your first riding experience, we start with sitting trot until the rising trot has been established and riding off the lead rein in the school in walk and trot. Able to run up stirrup irons. Know basic vocabulary. |
NoviceDeveloping sitting and rising trot, learning diagonals, learning to canter. Trotting poles. Able to tighten the girth Ready to ride out, when approved, on one hour treks. Able to untack under supervision and put on a headcollar. Able to do basic grooming and pick out feet under supervision |
Advanced NoviceRiding with more polish and style, developing canter, the use of half halt and rein effects. Developing a Classical seat for lateral work. Preparation for jumping, learning half seat, and to jump small jumps (optional). Able to ride out on hacks when canter is established. Able to alter stirrups and tighten girth unaided. Capable of mounting and dismounting without supervision Able to groom and tack up correctly. Career students |
Instructors
GROUP LESSONS
One hour group lessons with minimum 3 riders at the same level. A strong emphasis on gaining balance and harmony with the horse through attainment of a correct, classical seat.We offer a broad range of group riding lessons, from child or adult beginners to advanced dressage lessons.
INDIVIDUAL LESSONS
Whether you want to ride horse for pleasure, preparation for exams or to take your riding skills to competition level It is preferred to start out with a few 30 minutes private lessons.
PRIVATE LESSON WITH THE PRINCIPAL
Individual or semi private (2 persons) of 45 minutes at your own level with Beverley Gibbons — The Principal of Pine Trees Riding Centre. B.H.S. Int. T. (regd.), A.B.R.S.T.C., R.D.A. Group Instructor, First Aid Cert.Video analysis optional.
JUMPING
For those riders established jumping a single fence, these lessons offer the opportunity to develop their jumping skills. Lessons will focus on linking fences or on improving jump position and harmony with the horse using grid-work.
THE PINETREES EXPERIENCE
Hour session ideal for novices and rusty riders. Get to know your horse, feel more at ease and improve your skills in the arena before riding out on a nature walk. Minimum 3 riders.
LUNGE — SADDLE OR BLANKET
Private lessons of 30 minutes on the lunge are the most valuable of lessons for riders of all levels, whether with a saddle or with blanket and roller technique.
The most important type of lesson for all levels.
